CIC Miami at the Masters of Tomorrow Summit

With its growing number of locations, CIC is working to find ways to increase interconnectivity and collaboration between clients & communities across the states, and soon across the globe! Last week, CIC Miami welcomed Michael Burtov, of GeoOrbital, from CIC’s headquarters in Cambridge. A long time client of CIC, and a true creator, Michael was recommended to speak at the Masters of Tomorrow Summit in Miami by our General Manager, Natalia Martinez-Kalinina.

The Masters of Tomorrow (MOT) Summit gathers some of the world’s leading thinkers, creatives, technologists, entrepreneurs and artists for a unique conference that fuses design, technology and live music, during Miami’s Art Basel week. While at MOT, speakers and guests are invited to dive into Miami’s thriving art and cultural scenes, network, and engage in creatively curated conversations.

“When Masters of Tomorrow approached me to suggest companies and projects that were innovating in the areas they were looking to feature… It seemed natural to look at the very deep bench of design-focused clients we have within the CIC universe and to pull from this in-house talent pool. After taking a look, GeoOrbital seemed like a perfect fit for the conference, so I reached out to suggest Michael as a participant.”  – Natalia Martinez-Kalinina

So, who is Michael Burtov? Named, “One of the top inventors of 2016” by Upstart Journal, and featured in countless publications including Forbes and Time Magazine, Michael is undoubtedly one man who is reshaping the way we think of business & bicycles. Michael has been an entrepreneur for 15 years, building businesses through their life cycles. He was the Founder and CEO of three companies, two of which failed. Most recently, inspired by the movie, “TRON”, Michael sought out to invent an electrical wheel that could be attached to any standard bicycle with ease. Despite not having any experience in engineering – Michael’s simple and intuitive electrical wheel prototype was met with wild success. Shattering KickStarter goals and gaining SpaceX and Ford partnerships, GeoOrbital is now getting you places faster.

Natalia, also a speaker at MOT, lead insightful conversations within a panel called, Designing Miami’s Future. The idea of the panel was to discuss ways in which to embrace diversity in creating and designing the future of Miami. Many of the panelists are currently launching projects in Magic City and are simultaneously, engaging with and co-creating the innovation ecosystem. CIC’s expansion to Miami is a large-scale and long-term initiative, that is serving as an important catalyst in Miami’s growth as a hub for innovation, technology and creativity.
