We started the journey to open CIC Rotterdam as CIC’s first international location over 4 years ago, with 2017 marking our first full year officially open. To commemorate it, we decided to take a snapshot of our demographics and the numbers inside our center.
This was a daunting task. CIC’s in the US boast some pretty impressive numbers – collectively housing well over 1.000 companies, who have raised more than €3B, and home to venture capital funds managing close to €6B.
The picture painted here is a look at an earlier life-stage for an innovation ecosystem, but nevertheless, an impressive start. Amongst many other great achievements, we learned CIC Rotterdam startups created more than 100 jobs in 2017, and have raised more than €20M since they’ve been founded.
We’ve also included more in-depth profiles on a handful of clients in a series we’re calling “CIC Titans.” We’ll continue to release a total of eight of these portraits and stories over the coming months, shining a light on just a small number of the many amazing innovators calling CIC Rotterdam home.
