COULD SOMEONE FROM CIC HELP ME DURING MY WEEKNIGHT/WEEKEND EVENT?
Staff support is available to assist with arranging furniture and setting up the AV system before your event. If your event takes place outside of regular business hours (M-F, 9am-5pm), we are happy to provide an on-site CIC representative to be available to help with any questions that may arise. We ask for at least two weeks notice to schedule setup and staffing to support your event; this will incur a charge based on the scope and duration of the support. During business hours, our staff members are happy to assist with AV setup free of charge.
DO YOU ALLOW CATERING AT CIC?
Yes. We do not have any exclusive deals with caterers, so you are welcome to order from any caterer. The Events Team can recommend caterers that are familiar with our space, but you are free to hire a caterer of your choosing. The Event Coordinators can contact the caterer with logistical details; however, menu choices and payment are your responsibility.
If you plan to have caterers on-site and serving food to guests, we will need a Certificate of Insurance from your caterer at least two weeks prior to the start of your event.
I WANT TO SERVE ALCOHOL, BUT I’VE HEARD THERE ARE SOME RULES…
We do allow insured caterers with certified bartenders to serve alcohol at CIC. The Events Team is available to walk you through our process to ensure a successful and safe event based on each building policy. Often, a Certificate of Insurance or a One Day Liquor License will be required at least two weeks in advance of your event. Depending on the size and scope of your event, we will provide additional ServSafe-certified on-site CIC representatives to assist with any general questions that may come up.
Yes. For groups of more than 10 people, we are required to submit a guest list to the building security so that check-in is a smooth process for your guests. We have a guest list form here, that must be filled out at least 1 - 2 days before your event begins.
DO I NEED TO GIVE YOU A GUEST LIST?
Yes! If your event is free, open to the public, and aligns with CIC’s mission, we would be happy to promote your event to our clients through our marketing channels.
CAN CIC HELP PROMOTE MY EVENT?
Where can I park in Cambridge?
Parking is available in several public parking garages near Kendall Square (e.g. Standard Parking, Kendall Square Parking, Cambridge Center East Garage, Cambridgeside Galleria mall garages) as well as metered street parking. Cars can stop on 3rd Street or Broad Canal Way to load and unload passengers. If possible though, it is much easier to get to CIC Cambridge via public transportation - we are steps away from the Kendall Square station on the red line.
Where can I park in Boston?
There are a number of parking garages near 50 Milk Street, including one Federal St. Garage, 33 Arch Street, Garage at Post Office Square, One Devonshire Place, and more. You can also visit en.parkopedia.com. Street parking in the Financial District is limited, so public transportation is recommended. 50 Milk Street is a 10-minute walk from both the Park Street and Downtown Crossing T stations, and a 1 minute walk from the State Street T station.
How do I access my event space?
In order to access any of our buildings, you must first check in with building security using a government-issued photo ID. CIC staff members are on-site between 9:00am and 5:00pm, and can assist with giving you and your guests access to your event space within these hours.
If your event will be held on a weeknight or weekend, you will need to either schedule an on-site CIC representative for the duration of your event or obtain a keycard to access your room through our locked elevator doors. Key cards are given only to event organizers, and must be returned when the event has concluded.
Do you have WIFI?
We have wifi in all of our locations, with multiple access points to ensure full coverage across all of our offices and event spaces.
