ST. LOUIS — A company that operates coworking space at Cortex will invest $2 million in upgrading its lab space at the Central West End innovation district.
CIC St. Louis' remodel will feature six private labs that can accommodate up to 44 people, and shared lab space for individuals and small teams. The upgraded lab spaces include lab equipment and tech, eyewash stations, emergency showers, chemical fume hoods and biosafety cabinets, according to a release.
The project will be a joint investment between CIC and Cortex innovation district, officials said. The remodel is expected to finish in late spring.
CIC St. Louis currently has more than 200 clients that uses its 160,000 square feet facility on South Sarah Street.
