Office Hours with Steve Mendelsohn [CIC Members Only]

Steve Mendelsohn is the founder of the Philadelphia intellectual property (IP) boutique law firm of

Mendelsohn Dunleavy, which specializes in patent and trademark prosecution, that is, the procurement

of U.S. and foreign patents and trademarks. Steve earned a BS in physics from the University of

Michigan and an MS in electrical engineering from the University of Pennsylvania. Prior to returning to

Penn for law school, Steve worked for six years as a satellite systems engineer at GE's Aerospace

Division. After law school, Steve started his patent law career in the IP department of the Philadelphia

general-practice law firm of Schnader Harrison and then at the Philly IP boutique law firm of Weiser and

Associates. Steve specializes in the prosecution of patent applications for inventions in the electrical,

computer (hardware and software), and mechanical arts. Steve is a vice chair and executive board

member of the local region of the Anti-Defamation League, one of the country's leading civil rights
