PyData Miami

PyData is a " forum for the international community of users and developers of data analysis tools to share ideas and learn from each other" (https://pydata.org/mission.html). The Miami Machine Learning Meetup (https://www.meetup.com/Miami-Machine-Learning-Meetup) has become a chapter of PyData so that we can host a conference in Miami under their branding. We would like to have a 2 day conference with ~100 attendees. The intended audience will be a mix of industry data professionals, data analysts from the non-profit/civic space, machine learning researchers, and academics using data-intensive scientific computing. Ideally we could have keynote speakers and talks with broad appeal in the large main room on the 1st floor and use one of the larger conference rooms for more niche topics (climate modeling, computational drug discovery, etc.)
