Tim Rowe
Executive Chairman
Tim founded CIC in 1999, growing it from a single Cambridge location to a global company. He co-founded and chaired at launch LabCentral, MassRobotics, the Mass Mobility Hub, and the Kendall Square Association. Past roles include Lecturer at MIT, Manager at BCG, and Venture Partner at New Atlantic Ventures. Honored as a Boston Globe Tech Power Player, he has received multiple awards, including the Japanese Foreign Minister’s Award (2024). Fluent in Spanish and Japanese, he holds an MBA from MIT Sloan and a BA from Amherst College.

Brian Dacey
Vice Chair & Managing Director
As Vice Chair, Brian provides strategic leadership, shaping CIC’s long-term vision and partnerships. He served as President (2010-2024), leading asset management and expansion. A seasoned real estate executive, he has developed and managed office, hospitality, and residential projects. He co-chairs The Boston College Real Estate Council and is a member of A Better City. Brian also played key roles in the Kendall Square Association, Boston Harbor Now, and Morgan Memorial Goodwill Industries.

Denyse Medlenka
CEO
As CEO of CIC, Denyse oversees the overall management and strategic direction of the company, working closely with the executive and senior leadership teams to drive growth, profitability, and operational success. She joined as Chief People Officer (2022), building a top-tier HR function before transitioning to COO (2024) then President (2024), where she streamlined business processes. A versatile executive, she has led teams across audit, finance, HR, marketing, and customer service in startups and global enterprises. A Kendall Square Association board member, she is a KPMG Executive Leadership alum and a recipient of the DiversityFIRST Award from the National Diversity Council.

Victor Mulas
Chief Innovation Officer (CINO) & President, CIC Catalyst
Victor leads CIC’s Innovation Ecosystem Services and became its first Chief Innovation Officer in 2024. With 20+ years in innovation and technology, he advised governments and organizations, shaping startup ecosystems worldwide. At the World Bank, he led startup and smart city policy programs, driving global innovation. He advises Japan’s Cabinet Office on startup policies and is a Startup Fellow for the Tokyo Metropolitan Government. A research scientist at Chiba Institute of Technology, he has authored leading research on innovation and competitiveness.

Tak Umezawa
Chairman, CIC Japan
Tak led the launch of CIC Tokyo. He is a partner with A.T. Kearney in Japan, where he led the firm in various roles including a Director of the Board, Japan MD and Japan Chairman. He sits on Japanese government committees on topics including innovation and intellectual property strategy, creative industry development, inbound tourism, and taxation. He is Adjunct Professor on leadership at Hitotsubashi ICS, Hitotsubashi University Business School.

Huib Ter Braak
Senior Advisor, Europe
Huib ter Braak is Head of Europe in CIC’s growth team based in Rotterdam. Previously he was Arval Director Europe and Mediterranean Area, BNB Paribas Group. He co-founded a leasing company and managed 18 Arval countries, and was one of the 4 finalists of the 2017 International Fleet Hall of Fame.

Michelle Ottey, PhD
President, CIC Campuses and Labs
Michelle Ottey, PhD, is the Global Head of Centers and Labs at CIC, overseeing an international network of innovation campuses across the US, Europe, and Asia. A genetics and cell biology expert with deep operational leadership experience, she has led high-performing teams in both laboratory and corporate settings. At CIC, Michelle drives strategic growth and creates world-class lab and workspace environments that empower startups, scale-ups, and global corporations to solve pressing challenges, aligning science, business, and innovation for measurable impact.

Quinn Harvey
Director Of Construction & Design Management
Quinn Harvey is the Director of Construction Project Management at CIC. After receiving her BA in Architecture from Lehigh University, Quinn worked for multiple architects on residential and commercial projects in CT and NYC. Upon relocating to Boston, Quinn began her career at CIC on an Operations team prior to helping form CIC’s Design team. She later moved into the world of Construction Project Management and now leads the team through oversight and coordination of the buildout of CIC’s numerous projects that are under development.

Stas Gayshan
General Counsel
Stas Gayshan is General Counsel and Managing Director at CIC, and the co-founder of CIC Boston. Stas works with governments, universities, large corporations, real estate developers, entrepreneurs, nonprofits, funders, and other stakeholders to solve difficult problems, build powerful, interwoven innovation ecosystems, and help cities craft lasting, impactful outcomes. A globally sought-after thought leader on innovation and entrepreneurship, Stas often speaks at conferences and judges startup competitions around the world. Stas received his B.A. and J.D from Boston College, and was honored as one of the most innovative people in Massachusetts by the Boston Globe.
