CIC Philadelphia Celebrates Grand Opening at 3675 Market Street

This past month, CIC celebrated the grand opening of CIC Philadelphia at 3675 Market Street, our first building in the City of Brotherly Love.

Over 3,000 attendees filled the halls among activations by 35 community organizations and a collaborative display of Philly creativity with local performers, food startups, breweries, and wineries sharing their crafts.

In partnership with University City Science Center, BioLabs, and Wexford Science + Technology, CIC Philadelphia combines flexible office, event, and lab space in a community hub of innovation.

CIC Philadelphia represents the company’s sixth campus worldwide, with more locations slated to open in cities including Providence, Warsaw, and Tokyo in the coming months and years.

Our expansion is accompanied by the growth of Venture Café, CIC’s non-profit sister organization focused on connecting innovators through robust programming and civic innovation spaces.

Powered by Quorum, Venture Café Philadelphia hosted its inaugural event at 3675 Market on November 29. It was the first of its Thursday Gatherings, a free, weekly convergence of entrepreneurs, investors, industry experts, and innovation enthusiasts held at Venture Cafés around the globe.

In addition to enjoying entertainment by the Black Pearl Chamber Orchestra and DJ Adam Durant, Venture Café visitors attended sessions on topics spanning inclusive growth to Amazon’s recent HQ2 decision.

Entering its first full calendar year in operation, CIC Philadelphia is home to the 2019 Social Impact Cohort, a select group of local nonprofits addressing social issues just outside our doors.

This program provides space, resources, and networking opportunities designed to accelerate participants’ impact. Organizations include Coded By Kids, the Collective Success Network, and Open Access Philly.

“We’re captivated by Philadelphia already,” says Sally Guzik, Senior Community Engagement Lead at CIC Philadelphia. “Looking ahead to 2019, we’ll focus on deepening our partnerships and programs for entrepreneurs, working alongside the Science Center, BioLabs, and Venture Café for 3675 Market to become a porous hub of connectivity for current and future entrepreneurs.”
