A New England native and established innovation leader in the region, Messier now leads CIC’s Innovation Campuses in Boston, Cambridge and Providence
CIC, a global leader in building and operating innovation ecosystems, has elevated Stacey Messier to the General Manager of New England. Messier joined CIC in March 2022 to lead CIC Providence, which has experienced impressive growth including the development of a dynamic offshore wind community.
Her expanded role marks a significant milestone in CIC’s ongoing mission to support and accelerate the growth of innovative startups and enterprises throughout New England and around the world. Messier will deepen the connection between CIC’s New England-based Innovation Campuses with its global network and oversee growth in the region.
CIC Innovation Campuses combine workspace, high-impact programming, and intentional community and culture to become a physical center of gravity for the local community and help to accelerate the local and global innovation ecosystem. In New England, CIC provides dynamic workspace and programming for about 1,300 clients across its three campuses – from established enterprises and corporate innovation teams to growing startups and scale-ups tackling some of the world’s biggest challenges.
“With a career dedicated to catalyzing innovation and economic growth, Stacey brings an impressive record of accomplishments and community engagement. She’s played an invaluable role as General Manager of CIC Providence, and will serve as a dynamic and impactful leader for our entire New England portfolio,” said Tim Rowe, Founder and CEO, CIC.
Messier’s expanded role reflects her commitment to fostering innovation and her deep connections to Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut. Under her guidance, CIC has become a major player in the development of the offshore wind industry in Providence, creating the largest offshore wind hub in the U.S. Messier’s leadership also extends to CIC’s DEIB-focused efforts through which CIC Providence has created impactful programming and partnerships that support the community.
“I’m thrilled for this new opportunity to drive CIC’s growth and impact across New England. My goal has been, and will continue to be underscoring CIC’s commitment to building dynamic ecosystems, innovation and global connectivity,” said Stacey Messier, General Manager, CIC New England.
The appointment comes at an exciting time for CIC in the region. At CIC’s headquarters in Cambridge, the company recently announced the creation of two new dynamic industry hubs – the Massachusetts Mobility Innovation Hub and an AI Hub in partnership with C10 Labs. CIC was also selected for the Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA) Capital Readiness Program, the U.S. Commerce Department’s largest investment in support of underserved entrepreneurs.
