Tokyo Metropolitan Government Announces “New Startup Strategy” at CIC Tokyo

On November 24, Tokyo Governor Yuriko Koike held a press conference at CIC Tokyo (Head Office: Toranomon, Minato-ku, Tokyo; Executive Director: Timothy Rowe) to announce, “New Startup Strategy: Global Innovation with STARTUPS”. Since August 2022, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government has been occupying a “Dejima (satellite island)” at CIC Tokyo to strengthen collaboration with startups. As part of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government’s “New Startup Strategy” the Startup Ecosystem Association, of which CIC Tokyo General Manager Masaru Nagura serves as a board member, will hold a Startup Ecosystem Summit and Startup Career Fair, in collaboration with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government.

About The Startup Ecosystem Association 

The Startup Eco-System Association is led by organizations that support various startups, and aims to consolidate information related to startup support, share information domestically and internationally, and promote collaboration among supporters to create an environment in which startups can receive appropriate assistance in a timely manner. The Association supports the private sector take the lead in providing 

information and policy recommendations on the startup ecosystem to government agencies, as well as supporting educational institutions that foster entrepreneurs, with the aim of creating an environment for the creation and growth of startups over the medium to long term.
