Client Spotlight: Tervela

Guest Writter: Jenny Von Flatern

Tervela was one of CIC Boston’s first clients, and we’ve been able to watch the company grow over the past two years. Now, they’re partnering with some of the biggest names in the tech industry.

Tell us about your company. What do you do? How long have you been around?

Tervela has been around since 2004. [Our] first products were technologies called high-performance messaging switches. These allowed companies, primarily in the financial industry, to send millions of messages (pieces of data) per second. Our new product, Cloud FastPath, is an automated cloud-to-cloud and on-premises-to-cloud migration tool. It integrates with many cloud service providers, file sync and share services, and other hosting and on-premises technologies.

Tell us about your team.

Our team grew from 20 to 26 in the last few months. We are mostly engineers with five people on the business side of things. Our team has very diverse skill sets from hardware to networking to web development. Most of us have come to Tervela from much larger companies.

What was your latest milestone? What will be your next?

We recently announced our Google for Work partnership. Google Apps (Google Drive, Gmail, Google Chat, etc.) are excellent tools for the workplace. Cloud FastPath will help businesses, schools, and government agencies quickly and easily move their content into Google Drive. In addition, we have a campaign with Google Cloud offering free transfers into Google Cloud Storage.

Our next milestone will be to announce full support of Microsoft products and Dropbox. Just like Google there is a whole ecosystem of helpful Microsoft tools. Dropbox has been focusing more on the business user and our tool is an important component of Dropbox adoption. Cloud FastPath will enable companies to adopt new Microsoft products and Dropbox much faster.

Have you made any beneficial connections or fun memories while at CIC?

We have! We really enjoy how many international CICers there are in the building. It’s given us the chance to brush up on some rusty languages we speak (or barely speak, for that matter) and meet some great people. In addition, a fellow CIC member, 100Danish, did an excellent job building our main corporate website:
