Brian Bernstein, Harris Bernstein & Co - Brian Bernstein has over a decade of experience in seed, venture capital, and private equity. He has worked on acquisitions, dispositions, refinancing, and direct investments totaling more than $150MM. He currently serves on three portfolio company boards, two of which are venture-backed. In addition to starting his own venture fund, Brian started the Miami Venture Capital Association which represents Miami's largest network of venture capital investors.
Herwig Konings, Miami Venture Capital Association - Practically conceived in Startup culture, Herwig has been working for startups since he first worked for Manhattan-based, VC backed Clickable Inc., at the age of 14. Since then, he has been involved in either consulting for or operating his own companies, including Y-Combinator backed startup Glider.io. Since joining The Launch Pad (career center for entrepreneurs at the University of Miami) Herwig has been teaching lean startup methodology to hundreds of student entrepreneurs. While at school, Herwig won the Miami Technology Leader of the Year award in 2015 and was featured as one of Forbes’ 15 Brightest College Entrepreneurs. Since graduating with a BBA in Management & Entrepreneurship, Herwig continues to be the CEO of the startup he founded while in school known as InvestReady, turning it into the industry leader for investor verification featuring clients such as Mercedes-Benz and LendingHome.
