Can Corporations and Banks be Social Changemakers?

Joan Melé is a member of the advisory board of Triodos Bank(Ethical and Sustainable Bank) in Spain and President of "Fundación Dinero y Conciencia". He is also a self-awareness and personal transformation speaker, and the author of "Money and Conscience", "The Economy Explained to Young People" and “What we have left to live”.

Today, money has tapped the attention of humanity and has become a god in the modern world, defining how the world’s resources are distributed. Understanding our relationship with money with sincerity and courage is something that will allow us to reach our greatest human dimension. There is an opportunity for a new economic model.”

According to Mele, consumer spending has the power to impact the behavior of governments, banks, and other major industries. Therefore, the power of the citizen does not reside so much in their votes, as in the direction in which they inject their money through consumption and invest through their savings. It is time to take responsibility for our actions.
