The negative aspects of climate change pose great threats to our communities and their health. The burden is greater for vulnerable populations, including women, children, the elderly, and those in under-resourced communities. Join us for a day-long climate convening as we work to promote policies that protect health and advance climate justice.
The convening will include:
- Training on the health impacts of climate change (including Miami-specific impacts) and the health benefits of well-designed climate solutions
- Discussion of how and why climate change disproportionately impacts people of color and low-income communities
- Identification of key climate solutions that health professionals and grassroots climate advocates can advance to promote health and equity in Miami
- Multiple opportunities for networking with health professionals and grassroots climate advocates
